New Japan Pro Wrestling Superstar Kenny Omega has been all over the headlines recently after his incredible main event match against Kazuchika Okada. The match is widely considered to have been one of the greatest of all time, and after losing the match, Omega announced that he would be stepping away from NJPW for a while.
He shared the following on his Twitter account: “I will be stepping away from Japan to reassess my future. The path of my journey may change, but my goals will not.
“There is no plan. My schedule is cleared and I’m weighing all options. I’ve a lot to consider. Thx for the patience/support.”
Following this announcement and the fact that WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view happens in just under three weeks time, fans have speculated that Omega could well be one of WWE’s surprise entrants. John Cena didn’t help the speculation when he put a photo of Omega on his Instagram account yesterday afternoon.
After all the comments he has made about WWE, would Omega really join the company? Even for a one-off appearance? It’s certainly something that has got fans talking.
