WWE SmackDown back over two million viewers in overnight ratings

Overnight ratings for last night’s SmackDown on FOX saw the show average 2.016 million viewers.

The episode averaged 2.036 million viewers in hour one and 1.996 million in the second hour.

The viewership was up 4.2 percent from last week but was still SmackDown’s third lowest overnight average on FOX since the show’s debut in October.

In the 18-34 demo, SmackDown averaged the same 0.3 rating as last week, the fourth time in the last six weeks it had that same rating. It did top all of network TV on a night where most networks were airing repeat programming.

SmackDown also matched last week’s 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo. That also topped all of the networks in that demo.

In terms of total viewers, SmackDown usually finishes last but actually beat a repeat airing of NBC’s The Wall, so it avoided the bottom spot this week.

Last night’s SmackDown was the go-home show for Backlash and also featured AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan facing off in the finals of WWE’s Intercontinental title tournament.

Here’s a look at the last 10 weeks of SmackDown viewership and key ratings demos:
