Hardy Compound Flooded, SD 1000 Dream Matches, WWE Releases Shera

Hurricane Florence struck the Carolinas earlier this week and left several places and individuals in devastating condition. Unfortunately, not event The Hardy Compound was spared by the hurricane. WWE Superstar Matt Hardy alerted his fans that his home in Cameron, North Carolina has been flooded and that repairs are needed on the home. The Hardy Compound was used in several of the videos that were put together during Matt Hardy’s “Broken/Woken Universe” run. Hardy has said that both he and his family members are safe and have not been harmed by the hurricane. Hopefully, “The Woken One” will be able to have The Hardy Compound repaired and restored to its proper condition as soon as he possibly can.

To everyone who has checked on us, my family is safe following the hurricane. The Hardy Compound is badly flooded & we’re nonstop working to dry out & salvage what we can. Thanks you for checking on us & asking about our safety & the condition of our property. We appreciate it.

SmackDown will be celebrating its 1000th episode later on this year, and much like when Raw held its own 1000th episode in 2012 or when the 25th anniversary show occurred earlier this year, WWE is expected to make the show a major event. Interestingly enough, WWE recently posted a message on Facebook teasing a number of different “dream matches” that could be taking on the 100th episode of SmackDown. These matches include Daniel Bryan vs. Kurt Angle, Batista vs. Samoa Joe, Rey Mysterio vs. AJ Styles, Charlotte Flair vs. Michelle McCool, and The APA vs. The Bar. Perhaps one or several of these matches could be taking place during the historic episode of SmackDown on October 16th.

WWE has hired a number of stars who first made a name for themselves in Impact Wrestling over the years, and the trend continued earlier this year when Mahabali Shera (real name Amanpreet Singh Randhawa) was brought into the company. Shera was recruited as a member of the NXT roster, but it has just been reported by PWInsider that Shera has been released by WWE. Shera was brought into WWE back in February, and although he never competed on NXT television, he did wrestle on some live events for the developmental brand and he also trained in the Performance Center in Orlando. As of right now, neither WWE nor Mahabali Shera himself have publicly confirmed the sudden departure.
