Percy Watson Gone From WWE, Cage Vacates Titles, New WWE Signees

NXT announcer Percy Watson appears to be finished with WWE for now. According to Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens, Watson decided to quit the company because he wants to build up an acting career for himself. This does not appear to be a case where Watson was unhappy with WWE and wants to work for a different promotion as Watson is apparently done with wrestling altogether. Watson wrestled for WWE until he was first released in 2013. He was brought back to WWE in 2016 to work as a commentator for the NXT brand. Percy Watson’s departure from the company has not been confirmed by WWE or Watson himself, but his spot in the NXT announce table was taken over by Beth Phoenix during the latest set of NXT tapings.

He wants to do acting and not be a commentator/personality/wrestler apparently.

The main event of Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion pay-per-view should have been a glorious moment for Brian Cage because he defeated Johnny Impact to win the Impact World Championship for the first time in his career. Unfortunately, he received an injury during the match that may keep him on the shelf for a while. Although he is still the champion for Impact as of now, Cage has just surrendered some of the titles that he has been carrying for other promotions. Cage vacated the WrestleCircus Ringmaster and Sideshow titles. Cage just had ACL surgery and is having some back issues as well. New champions for WrestleCircus will be crowned soon, but it should be interesting to see how Impact addresses Cage’s injuries.

It’s been an honor holding the @WrestleCircus Ringmaster & Sideshow Titles for over a year but I must vacate for now.

WWE has apparently just added a few new faces to its large roster. According to Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens, Hussain Aldagal and Faisal Kurdi are now part of the company. If those names sound familiar, it is because they took part in the 2018 KSA tryouts for WWE last year. They were even featured in a segment during the Greatest Royal Rumble event last year with Shawn and Ariya Daivari. The news comes just weeks before WWE is set to return to Saudi Arabia for another one of their mega shows. It has been reported in the past that WWE was toying with the idea of opening a new WWE Performance Center in Saudi Arabia, but it is unclear if those plans are still on the horizon as of this moment.
