The Delhi High Court, on Monday, stayed the cutting of 16,500 trees till July 2 after citizen protested massively yesterday. The government has decided to cut 16, 500 trees around Sarojini Nagar to built residences of the employees. The order has questioned the Centre’s decision.
“Can Delhi afford to cut off trees for the development of roads and buildings?” the court asked NBCC (India) Ltd, the state-owned real estate company which is going to redevelop the colonies.
