Mike Dean could brandish his 100th red card when he takes charge of Leicester City vs Manchester United

Leicester City and Manchester United players need to be well behaved to avoid getting on referee Mike Dean’s bad side when the two teams meet in the Premier League on Sunday.

Dean takes charge of the match at the King Power Stadium this afternoon – which you can listen to LIVE on talkSPORT – and he could reach a century of red cards.

The Wirral-born official has been a Premier League referee since 2000 and in that time he has shown 99 red cards, with Phil Dowd in second having dismissed a lowly 67 players.

Dean’s first ever dismissal came in April 2001, when he sent off Newcastle’s Nobby Solano for a goal line handball against Ipswich.

He has shown 99 red cards in 470 games – which equates to one every 4.7 matches.

This season Dean, 50, has already sent off nine players in just 18 matches.

Back in September, Dean gave Nemanja Matic his marching orders in stoppage time, when Manchester United beat Watford at Vicarage Road.
