Back in the day (well, March), Pete Davidson upgraded his Staten Island “Guido Trash” aesthetic to meet the elevated standards of Queer Eye’s resident fashion expert, Tan France.
Sidebar: Is this how Davidson wooed fiancée Ariana Grande, with his newfound Timothée Chalamet-inspired flair?
Anyway, the Netflix star lent his sartorial expertise to the Saturday Night Live cast member while on a shopping excursion at Saks Fifth Avenue—and (thank you, pop culture overlords) it was caught on tape.
France was immediately critical of Davidson’s oversize style, suggesting that he invest in better-fitting garments and opt for more subdued colors—particularly when it comes to hanging with his then-girlfriend Cazzie David and her family (Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Larry David, etc).
“I thought I was like kind of dressing well, but it’s so nice to know I’ve been dressing like s— the entire time,” Davidson joked with France. “Someone has to tell me. You know people who have like s— in their teeth? It’s the same thing—I have s— all over myself.”

Queer Eye—and France—will return to Netflix for its second season on June 15. (And we’re sure Davidson will be returning to your newsfeeds with more Ariana Grande drama very soon, too.)
