‘Sing a song for Sala’ – Cardiff pay touching tribute to missing striker during emotional Premier League victory over AFC Bournemouth

Cardiff boosted their chances of survival with a 2-0 win at home to Bournemouth but the result was of secondary importance.

This was the Bluebirds’ first game at The Cardiff City Stadium since the tragic disappearance of new signing Emiliano Sala, who was flying back to Wales from Nantes when his aircraft disappeared near Guernsey on January 21st.

It’s a story that has shook the football world and it has even led to over crowdfunding raising over €300,000 to continue looking for the missing Piper Malibu after authorities called off the search three days after the incident.

And Cardiff saluted Sala in perfect style with numerous tributes before, during and after the match from the players and staff.

But the Cardiff fans also played their part singing a song in the striker’s honour.

Below you can see a video of the home fans paying tribute to the Argentine with the lyrics below.

And here are some of the heart-warming pictures paying tribute to Sala on a truly emotional night.
