Bayer Leverkusen chartered a private jet for Tanguy Ndombele in case his Lyon move collapsed on deadline day

As reported by Foot Mercato Bayer Leverkusen maintained an opportunistic interest in Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele right to the every end of the transfer window.

The France international eventually joined Lyon on loan from Spurs with a €65m option to buy, a fee very unlikely to be utilised by OL, after lengthy talks with Paris failed to produce a final agreement as PSG were unable to move another player on and make room in their squad for Ndombele.

Everton, Valencia, Atlético Madrid, Roma and Napoli were positioning themselves in the final week of the window but Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen were the last to give up on the 25-year-old player and even chartered a private jet to take Ndombele to Germany should his deal fall through at the last minute in order to expedite a late switch to the Bundesliga.
