Spurs quoted €30m to sign Abdou Diallo

As reported by L’Équipe, Tottenham were scared off signing PSG’s Senegalese international defender Abdou Diallo by a €30m asking price placed on the centre-back by Paris for this summer.

With the club looking to finally make considerable player sales this off-season following the arrival of director Antero Henrique, who has been tasked with selling a list of 11 unwanted fringe players – a list the 26-year-old has been included on, PSG are, however, not planning on allowing players to leave for cut price deals.

Manchester United were quoted €35m having enquired over the signing of PSG’s Argentine international midfielder Leandro Paredes and Paris are looking to recoup the €30m they paid Borussia Dortmund for Diallo in 2019 with Milan Škriniar’s likely signing expected to push Diallo further down the club’s hierarchy of centre-backs.

Spurs, unwilling to meet PSG’s valuation of the player, turned to the signing of Barcelona’s former Nancy and French international defender Clement Lenglet instead. Diallo, however, is interested in a move away from PSG with AC Milan also monitoring him.
