Bayern Munich table third Mathys Tel bid

L’Équipe are reporting that Bayern Munich have made a third bid for Rennes forward Mathys Tel (17). Although the figure is not yet known, it would represent a record fee for a player of his age.

Rennes rejected Bayern’s first offer, which including bonuses, totalled €17m. The Bundesliga champions then returned with a second bid of €22.5 including bonuses, but this too was rejected.

A third bid for the France U18 international has now been tabled. That record bid was submitted during an exchange between the two clubs on Tuesday. The Breton side have not yet given their response and have “indicated that they are studying the proposition.” L’Équipe report that a response is expected soon.

Tel has a contract, which runs until 2025 so Rennes are under no pressure to sell their talented prospect, nor will they do so on the cheap. The forward has yet to score in any of his 7 Ligue 1 appearances, but he does have an impressive scoring record in both the N3 and also for the France U18 side.
