As seen on tonight’s edition of Impact Wrestling, Laurel Van Ness was crowned the new Knockouts Champion after she successfully defeated Rosemary for the vacated Title.
As we have been reporting for the past two weeks, the title change was filmed during the post-Bound for Glory Impact Wrestling tapings in Ottawa, but immediately after the Title change, Van Ness requested her release from Impact.
Impact officials did not grant the release request, as they felt Van Ness should have informed them before they put the title on her, and she agreed. So it appears as if Van Ness will remain with Impact until she can drop the title.
With Impact officially announcing tonight that the company will be on hiatus for the remainder of 2017, it appears likely that Van Ness will not have the opportunity to drop the title until the mid-January Impact TV tapings in Orlando.
