This Tuesday night’s episode of WWE Mixed Match Challenge featured the final two quarterfinal matches, with two teams from Smackdown Live moving on to next week’s tournament semifinals.
In a downright shocking upset, the unlikely duo of Carmella and R-Truth defeated Charlotte Flair and the “Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy to advance. Asuka and The Miz, the season one MMC winners, defeated Naomi and Jimmy Uso to advance as well.
The two remaining blue brand pairings will do battle next Tuesday night in the semifinal round, while RAW’s Bayley and Finn Balor face off against Alicia Fox and the “Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal.
As noted, the finalists from each brand will compete against one another to crown a winning team at WWE TLC (you know, the OTHER day of the year that Superstars from Raw and Smackdown compete in head-to-head competition). The winners will receive the coveted #30 spots in their respective Royal Rumble matches.
