Ligue 1 side Dijon have confirmed the sale of 25-year-old Icelandic international goalkeeper Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson to Arsenal for a reported €2m fee.
Rúnarsson has signed a 4-year contract with the Gunners and the club’s Technical Director, Edu, had the following to say upon the move:
“We’re very pleased to welcome Alex to our squad. We have been monitoring him for some time and from the analysis, he has strong attributes that we look for in a goalkeeper and as a person.”
Rúnarsson played 45 matches for DFCO and since the beginning of last season was the club’s reserve goalkeeper, behind Alfred Gomis in the pecking order.
