L’Équipe report that PSG’s board expect their Sporting Director Leonardo to make at least €60m worth of transfer window sales.
The football operator has either failed to attract offers or for any of Abdou Diallo, Thilo Kehrer, Idrissa Gueye, Leandro Paredes and Julian Draxler, or to convince them to exit the club in January. These are all individuals that had previously been seen as somewhat bankable by the board and not essential to keep, even if Paredes has played brilliantly under new manager Mauricio Pochettino to date.
Draxler’s contract expires in June and he will not be offered a new deal, therefore that is one player less from whom PSG could possibly extract a fee for.
Les Parisiens have been hit hard by the COVID-19-induced economic and broadcast crisis affecting French football, with the club expecting to run a €204m deficit.
