As reported by L’Équipe, director Marc Ingla’s association with Lille is coming to an end. Having arrived in 2017 as general manager as part of the Gérard Lopez team, Ingla, out of the loop under the new regime, resigned on Friday.
The arrival of Olivier Létang as president last December, who did not want to work closely with the Spaniard, significantly weakened Ingla’s position before former Rennes defender Sylvain Armand’s arrival as director of football weakened him further.
Ingla had been a prominent figure among the Lille hierarchy, both publicly and in the running of the club, during the ill-fated Marcelo Bielsa era. He will leave his post, officially, in the coming days.
