L’Équipe report today that Lens are hoping to have Arnaud Kalimuendo back at the club for a third season, with the striker spending the last two years on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 20-year-old scored 7 goals in the league in his first season with the Sang et Or, before going on to net 12 this year in 34 appearances.
Kalimuendo has nevertheless indicated that he would like to be playing in a European competition next year, although he is not closing the door to a return to Lens, which he considered his “like my home” in an interview with So Foot. The Frenchman made three appearances for his parent club at the start of the current campaign before returning to the north of France.
With regard to the rest of the Artois side’s attacking options, the 25-year-old Simon Banza is set to return from his loan spell with Famalicão in Portugal, which has seen him end the year on 17 goals. He has various potential suitors in the Primeira Liga, whose offers would be higher than that which Lens can offer him.
