Nice asking PSG for at least €8m to sign Christophe Galtier

Foot Mercato report tonight that Nice’s asking price for Christophe Galtier’s final two years on his contract with the club is between €8m and €10m, as talks continue over a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain for the French manager.

Galtier is now the favourite to take the PSG job following Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking, having been the priority of new sporting advisor Luis Campos, and with efforts to bring Zinédine Zidane to the club ultimately unsuccessful.

Both clubs want to reach an agreement quickly so as to kick off their respective transfer windows, with Lucien Favre waiting in the wings to replace Galtier.

However, PSG are not willing to go above the €5m mark to get their man. Talks have seen the possibility of players from the league champions going the other way in order to facilitate the former Lille manager’s move.

Les Parisiens are looking to trim down their squad this summer, and midfielder Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe is one of the players to have been offered. However, given the high fees PSG are asking for their sales, this is unlikely to happen. As a result, the capital club could find themselves in a position to concede to Nice’s demands – for example, Les Aiglons are interested in the young Djeidi Gassama who could be part of the deal.
