Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has announced via Instagram that John Cena will play the lead role in the upcoming movie “The Janson Directive”, being produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions.
According to Variety, the movie is an adaptation of a novel, which follows a former consular ops agent who, after leaving covert operations due to the high number of sanctioned serial killings, goes into business as private security consultant. Teamed with a sharpshooter, Janson only takes assignments that he believes will lead to helping those in need.
The Rock was initially set to star in the movie, but due to scheduling conflicts he had to withdraw but will remain on the project as an Executive Producer.
