CM Punk vs Chris Amann Updates: Doc Hits Punk With Massive Damages Claim, Closing Argument Delivered

Today is day six of the defamation and libel trial featuring former WWE star CM Punk vs Chris Amann, and earlier today Amann’s lawyer offered closing arguments in the case which landed a bombshell announcement of the damages sought by the WWE doctor.

According to Gregory Pratt of The Chicago Tribune, during the closing argument, Punk’s lawyer disclosed that Chris Amann is seeking $1 for every stream of the “Art of Wrestling” podcast from 2014 for which Punk and Colt Cabana are being sued. Based on streaming numbers, that would amount to a total of $3,989,000 in compensatory damages.

In addition to the above, Amann is also seeking punitive damages, however, the dollar amount being sought by Amann has not been revealed.

Following the closing arguments, the court recessed for lunch, and when the trial reconvenes, attorney’s for CM Punk and Colt Cabana will offer their closing arguments. After the arguments, the jury will convene, and depending on how long it takes for them to deliberate, a verdict could come as early as today.
