IN-RING SEGMENT

This week’s SmackDown Live starts off with an episode of Truth TV, with R-Truth and Carmella hosting a mock version of Miz TV with the Mixed Match Challenge team introducing their guest, Daniel Bryan. Truth says he has plenty of questions for Daniel, asking him how it would feel to defeat The Miz at Super Show-Down.

As Bryan attempts to answer Carmella quickly lets them know that “it’s time,” and a seven-second dance break begins. Bryan says he spent so much energy coming back, but it wasn’t enough, as he wants to be the WWE Champion as he has unfinished business with the title as he only defended it one-time. He says he also has unfinished business with Miz who has cheated several times against him.

The Miz then makes his way out and asks what R-Truth is doing, which gets a big “Truth TV” chant from the fans. He then points out that he beat Miz two weeks ago, adding that if Miz had a championship, it would be his, but instead he has a talk show, so he took that instead.

Miz says he knows why the fans love Daniel Bryan, he is the relatable underdog who never stops fighting and fights fair, which is why people love him. But that is also why he will never beat The Miz. He claims he’s smart, not a coward and does whatever it takes to win at all costs.

Miz says Bryan won’t do whatever it takes, as it will make him compromise his own moral code because if he cheats he will steal the hope from his fans and tarnish the name, Daniel Bryan. Truth interrupts and says he will fight Miz for his show if he wants it, to which he walks to the Gorilla position to complain to Paige. She says if he wants it he will need to go and win it back.

THE MIZ vs R-TRUTH

R-Truth starts out strongly in the match, sending The Miz to the outside, but the heel takes advantage, pulling Truth headfirst onto the ropes, mocking Daniel Bryan at ringside. However, Miz returns to the ring and walks into a hip toss and Truth chases him out of the ring until he runs into Carmella and turns into a big right hand from Truth.

Miz manages to get himself back into the match with a high boot to the face of Truth and he then begins to rock Truth with the It Kicks and Bryan calls out Corey Graves for claiming that the move originated from Miz on commentary.

Truth then attempts to pin Miz with a backslide but it doesn’t quite work out and Miz hits a big knee, sending R-Truth down once again to regain control. Despite that when we return from the break it is Truth that is on fire, hitting a jawbreaker and almost picking up the victory. Yet Miz manages to use his dirty tactics, raking the eye of Truth and then hitting the Skull Crushing Finale.

However, instead of pinning him, Miz continues to gloat to Daniel Bryan, mocking his Yes chants before hitting Bryan’s Running Knee finisher to defeat R-Truth.

Winner: The Miz
