Mike and Maria Kanellis made a surprise return to television this week, interrupting a match at the WWE 205 Live television tapings, set to air this Wednesday night on the WWE Network.
The husband-and-wife duo made their debut at the 2017 Money in the Bank pay-per-view as members of the Smackdown brand, but only three months later Maria revealed that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child, and they were taken off television.
Around the same period that the two announced their pregnancy, Mike revealed publicly that he had been struggling with an addiction to prescription pain killers. In October 2017 WWE released a short documentary about his journey noting that he was three months clean. Just last month, Mike announced that he was fourteen months sober.
The two made their return at Tuesday’s WWE taping events, interrupting a match in progress between Lio Rush and Lince Dorado, with Mike attacking both men after his wife provided a distraction. Assuming that the two continue working with the purple brand going forward, this will be their official WWE 205 Live debut.
