WWE has officially confirmed that a huge rematch will headline this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, taking place in just two weeks’ time in Los Angles, Cali.
After winning the vacant Universal Championship in controversial fashion at the even more controversial WWE Crown Jewel event this Friday, the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar will once again step into the ring against WWE Champion AJ Styles in a clash of the two top title holders the company has to offer.
This will be in interesting rematch indeed, as the “Phenomenal One” will come into the bout as the underdog, having lost their first encounter in 2017, but he will do so having just passed the one-year mark as champion. Considering that Lesnar has been rumored to be “on his way out” – although that has been the rumor for about four years now – it’s possible we could see Styles even the odds in their rivalry.
As noted, this year’s Survivor Series will once again see the Raw and Smackdown brands go to war, with Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch already set to take place in a battle of the two women’s champions. A traditional five-on-five women’s match has also been confirmed, with Paige unsuccessfully attempting to recruit Charlotte Flair for the role as Smackdown Team Captain.
