Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match Officially Confirmed For WWE Fastlane

This past December the McMahon family took to the ring and promised a “brand new era” in the WWE full of new Superstars, new matches, and some major changes in policy.

One of those changes was the remove of something we refer to as obligatory rematch clauses, where a losing champion would be automatically owed a rematch, oftentimes taking place at the very next pay-per-view. This would often result in the same exact match taking place month after month.

Well buckle up ladies and gentlemen, because after defeating The Miz and Shane McMahon this past Sunday night at WWE Elimination Chamber, the six-time tag team champions The Usos will defend their Smackdown titles at next month’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view against…. The Miz and Shane McMahon.

To be fair, both teams brought up how WWE no longer has any obligatory championship rematches, citing Shane McMahon’s matchmaking power as the reason the bout should once again take place. But, to be even more fair, the McMahon family also promised they’d stop using their power to gain personal influence. So… Here we go again!

This is the first match officially announced for WWE Fastlane, which takes place on Sunday, March 10th from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
