WWE Superstar Lio Rush opened up and spoke about his WWE return during a recent video on the WWE Performance Center YouTube channel.
On having the determination to get back to wrestling:
“There’s always that thought in my head of, ‘Man, do I even still know how to wrestle?’” questioned Lio. “I haven’t had a wrestling match in almost half a year. I got into professional wrestling to literally show the world that I’m one of the greatest, and can be one of the greatest athletes, professional wrestlers that has ever lived. No matter the age or experience. I’m gonna show everybody that as long as you have heart, determination, drive, and hunger that you can achieve anything. I feel like my whole life, I’ve done exactly that to get to where I am.”
On having unfinished business in NXT:
“What’s next for me in NXT? I feel like I have so much to prove. I have a lot of things that I set out to do in the professional wrestling/sports entertainment world. A lot of unfinished business in NXT. A lot of people that are looking up to me, that are rooting for me, that want me to succeed. I gotta be a role model for them.”
