Daltons Gimmick Dead, RVD's Final Night, Trinity's Status In Question

sources: PWInsider.com, Wrestling Observer

The planned “Hillbilly” tag team gimmick that was planned for SmackDown looks to be as good as dead. After they did a backstage segment a few weeks ago in which Theodore Long promised them a match on the subsequent episode of SmackDown, the creative team changed their minds on using them. The reason for the change of plans seems to be that Vince McMahon doesn’t want a “Hillbilly” team on the roster because it’s a bad image.

This may be nothing to make a big deal over, but some readers are saying that all of the photos of Trinity have been removed from the ‘Daily Diva’ section on WWE.com. At the moment, her profile is still up on WWE.com, but this does seem rather odd considering that she is still on the roster. Sans an appearance at WrestleMania, Trinity has been kept off of television since January for some unknown reason. Furthermore, Ariel’s photos were recently removed from the section, then again, she is no longer with the company.

Unless plans suddenly change, last night was Rob Van Dam’s final night with the company. A number of the wrestlers were under the impression that it was indeed RVD’s last night. Original plans called for Randy to win the match, but upon realizing that the news of RVD’s departure was out there, WWE decided to change it up to swerve people. But then the match came, and it seemed like most of the live crowd had no idea that he was leaving. So basically, they made the change to try and fool some fans who already knew better.
