Tonight, the NXT brand moves one step closer to their next big event, as the second-to-last episode of NXT TV ahead of their upcoming NXT TakeOver: Toronto special airs on the WWE Network this evening.
While next week’s show will be the official NXT TakeOver: Toronto “go-home” episode of the show, tonight’s show features the official contract signing for the TakeOver: Toronto main event for the NXT Championship between champion Shinsuke Nakamura and challenger Samoa Joe, as well as the latest round of matches in the ongoing, second annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.
WWE.com wrote the following blurb in their official NXT TV preview for tonight:
“This week’s NXT is ripe for instability, as NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and No. 1 contender Samoa Joe meet to sign on the dotted line less than two weeks before they battle for the title at TakeOver: Toronto. Plus, #DIY face The Authors of Pain and TM-61 clash with SAnitY in the semifinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.”
The following matches and segments are scheduled for tonight’s show:
