WWE NXT preview, July 4, 2018: Johnny Gargano looks to reset against EC3

Although still yearning to settle the score with Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano returns to competition on WWE NXT for the first time since NXT TakeOver: Chicago II to face a different member of the black-and-yellow brand’s elite, EC3. Will Gargano’s head (and body) be in good enough condition as he takes on The Top One Percent?

Johnny Gargano returns to action to take on EC3

Despite Johnny Gargano’s impassioned plea to William Regal requesting one more opportunity to battle Tommaso Ciampa, the NXT General Manager instead declared that it would be best for Johnny Wrestling to move on from the psychotic Blackheart. In turn, Regal scheduled a contest between Gargano and a Superstar who demands to be a main-event player in NXT, EC3. With so much running through Gargano’s mind and being only a few weeks removed from his savage Street Fight against Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II, will Gargano be able to refocus as he takes on The Top One Percent of NXT?

Who’s next for The Queen of Spades?

After another successful title defense against the tenacious Toni Storm at the NXT U.K. Championship special. NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler will appear live on WWE NXT. Having conquered the likes of Storm, Nikki Cross and Dakota Kai in recent weeks, what will the dominant champion have to say as her potential challengers attempt to keep pace?

Will Heavy Machinery get even with The Mighty?

As the back-and-forth tussle between Heavy Machinery and The Mighty continues, the predominant question now becomes how much longer Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic can go without absolutely snapping on Nick Miller & Shane Thorne due to their underhanded tactics (such as the illegal pinfall they used to secure their last victory over Heavy Machinery). Last week after The Mighty stole a victory from them, the normally jovial Knight & Dozovic indicated that the time for fun and games is over. Will this be the week that Knight & Dozovic bring the hurt to The Mighty?

Can Chris Dijak put a damper on The Dream?

After suffering tough losses at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II and the NXT U.K. Championship special (the latter of which included the implosion of his tag team with EC3), Velveteen Dream looks to reset in singles competition against the towering Chris Dijak. Dijak already opened the eyes of the NXT Universe in his WWE Network debut against Ricochet in May, but can he score the biggest victory of his NXT tenure by downing Dream? Or will Velveteen Dream get back on the winning track against the multi-tooled powerhouse?
