Jerry Lawler’s WWE Contract Status
It is being reported that Jerry Lawler is no longer working weekly WWE programming and instead has signed a Legends Contract. This would mean that Lawler won’t be an announcer on any pre-shows (with the possible exception of the Big Four PPV’s) going forward and instead will only make promotional appearances for the company. The WWE released the following statement regarding The King’s WWE status;
“Jerry Lawler has a Legends agreement with WWE, however, he will no longer regularly appear on our pre-shows. he will continue to host special events, including WWE’s annual Hall of Fame celebration at Wrestlemania.”
Cody Rhodes Discusses His New Look
Cody Rhodes recently sat down with Wrestlezone to discuss his new in-ring look, life on the indies and facing Jay Lethal at Ring of Honour’s Final Battle.
“So, my wife and my manager both kind of chewed me out because I was really going deep on the gear, expensing some great gear and will continue to do so adamantly against their wishes. I do have something special in mind; I wore a special pair of boots in PWG and will wear a special pair of boots in the biggest match of my career for sure”
Cody continued, revealing the reasoning behind going with long tights as his new ring gear;
“It’s kind of a boring answer, but when I was going to come back as Cody Rhodes in the WWE, this was the design that creative services gave me, the Austin Hall Eagle that was on my dad’s boots. People think it’s something else, but it’s an Austin Hall Eagle, it was just time to switch it up. Fresh coat of paint. I still shave my legs. I know that’s a really weird thing to throw out there, but I want people to know that so I still shave them.”
