The Royal Rumble is coming up very soon, and as the weeks go by, fans are learning about more of the participants who will be involved in the titular match. Several stars such as John Cena and Roman Reigns have been cited as possible winners of the match, but a new report may help make the winner of the match a bit clearer to some fans. While no word on who may win the women’s Royal Rumble match has been provided, Cageside Seats has reported that the plan is for a Smackdown star to win the men’s Royal Rumble match later on this month. We’ll have to wait and see who will fight for the WWE Championship until the Royal Rumble event on January 28th.

It was announced earlier this week that WWE is hosting another round of NXT Year-End Awards. Those awards have been occurring for a number of years now, while the usual Slammy Awards for WWE’s main roster talents has not taken place in quite some time. PWInsider recently confirmed that WWE ditched the concept because they wanted to search for different ideas to replace it. The report mentioned that the Slammy Awards may not be coming back immediately, but there has been some discussion about possibly bringing the award shows back in the future. The feedback for the current NXT Year-End Awards might help the company decide whether or not the Slammys should return.
