Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa finally had their match against each other during last night’s outstanding NXT Takeover: New Orleans event. The match saw the two former best friends go to war against each other in the main event of the show. The unsanctioned portion of the match was on full display as Ciampa and Gargano utilized their surroundings completely during the match. In the end, Gargano was able to lock Ciampa in the Gargano Escape to gain a submission victory. As per the stipulation of the match, Gargano will continue to wrestle for NXT. Johnny celebrated in the ring with his wife, Candice LeRae, after the match was over.

History was made once again at NXT Takeover: New Orleans last night as the evening saw a ladder match in order to determine the first-ever North American Champion start off the show. Lars Sullivan, EC3, Ricochet, Killian Dain, and the Velveteen Dream all looked like they get the win in the match at any moment, but the match was ultimately won by the leader of the Undisputed Era, Adam Cole. Cole would participate in the NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat match not long after winning NXT’s newest title. Adam Cole will now defend his championship against 205 Live’s Akira Tozawa at Fan Axxess later today as the cruiserweight won the North American Championship Invitational tournament yesterday.
History has been made.
