NXT Star Set for EVOLVE, Becky/Charlotte Feud, Paige Slaps Baker

WWE has allowed some of their independent partners to promote their shows with guest appearances from WWE Superstars in the past. Some of the NXT and 205 Live roster members have been part of ICW and PROGRESS shows in recent years, and it seems like the trend will be continuing very soon. One of the most popular NXT Superstars will be competing for EVOLVE on two separate occasions later within the next few weeks. It has just been announced that The Velveteen Dream will be wrestling Austin Theory at EVOLVE 112 on September 7th, and he will face Darby Allin EVOLVE 113 on September 8th. These two scheduled appearances will mark The Velveteen Dream’s first-ever matches in EVOLVE.

There has been several different opinions from fans over the Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch feud that is currently ongoing on SmackDown. The original idea was that a heel Becky Lynch would face her former best friend for taking away her spotlight and winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The Wrestling Observer Live has now backed up a previous report from John Pollock stating that the direction of the feud has changed. Instead, WWE will be allowing the audience to decide for themselves who is the true heel and babyface in this storyline. Bryan Alvarez also stated during the show that WWE knew that Lynch attacking Charlotte and calling her a “bitch” would receive cheers from the crowd in Toronto during SmackDown this week.

Britt Baker has been dazzling the independent wrestling circuit lately, and she is hoping to put on the performance of a lifetime during the All In event this weekend. Baker has been making headlines recently for an incident involving herself and current SmackDown General Manager Paige. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Paige was in the crowd at a BlackCraft Wrestling show slapped and even laid a vicious slap on Baker during her match. Given that Baker was competing against Paige’s mother, Saraya Knight, this was likely only an angle and not a serious incident that took place between these two performers. Baker will face Madison Rayne, Chelsea Green, and Tessa Blanchard at All In this Saturday night.
