Though the match had been known about for a while, Ring of Honor officially announced on Thursday that The Young Bucks would face Matt & Jeff Hardy at their upcoming Supercard of Honor show over WrestleMania weekend.
The match stems from an angle that was shot at the promotion’s Final Battle pay-per-view last December. It was announced by Kevin Kelly in Thursday’s ROH video update, where Kelly referred to it as the main event of the April 1st show but said he didn’t know which match would go on last.
Dave Meltzer reported on the post-Final Battle edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that the match was set for WM weekend. He also noted that TNA giving clearance for a video of Matt Hardy to appear on the PPV came at the last minute.
ROH has announced appearances for Dragon Lee, Jushin Thunder Liger, YOSHI-HASHI, and Volador Jr. at Supercard of Honor. Whoever is ROH World Champion will also defend their title against Dalton Castle.
Supercard of Honor will take place in Lakeland, Florida, which is a decent drive from Orlando and most of the WrestleMania weekend events. The show won’t be streamed live but presumably will be made available on demand at some point.
Video of Kelly making the announcement is available to watch below:
