The Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association would like to recognize this year’s MWCA Media Award recipients.
Rick Grammond from Pierz, Minnesota, was nominated by Hans Horning. Rick has been a big supporter of Pierz wrestling for 28 years. He has been involved in broadcasting the majority of Pierz matches, including tournament time. Rick has been the voice of Pierz sports since 1988. Rick has worked for Little Falls Radio (94.1), where he has covered wrestling and many other activities around the Little Falls area for 25 years. Now, Rick covers wrestling and other activities on a new website – www.youaretheresports.com.
Kevin Kyle from the Pipestone Star was nominated by Brian Bos. Kevin has done an outstanding job covering wrestling, posting great action pictures, and promoting wrestling with articles such as ‘Grind Now, Shine Later.’ Kevin has had a positive effect on the Pipestone community. He shows great respect for athletes and coaches in his articles and when he communicates with them at events. They really appreciate his support and they enjoy visiting with Kevin.
