As most wrestling fans know by now, the Double or Nothing rally for the new All Elite Wrestling promotion took place one week ago today. It was a major event that saw the signings of Chris Jericho, PAC, and others announced, and it was also confirmed that there won’t be a gender pay gap for performers, and wrestlers will receive health coverage for AEW-related injuries. The behind the scenes process for the whole press conference has been documented in the latest episode of Being the Elite. The show provides a small glimpse behind the curtain from last week’s event, and of course, the members of The Elite are present. The new Being the Elite video has been posted down below for those interested in checking it out.
While AEW, WWE, and ROH have been announcing some huge signings this month, don’t forget that MLW has been locking talent under deals as well. It has just been reported that two more wrestlers have signed exclusive deals with the promotion. PWInsider says that reigning CZW Champion Mance Werner will be joining the promotion and debuting during MLW’s February 2nd show. Also just signed to a deal is The Almighty Sheik. Sheik is a former NWA Champion who some fans may be familiar with through his work as Joey Machete. There is no word on a debut date for The Almighty Sheik yet though. Sheik and Wener join Davey Boy Smith Jr, Brian Pillman Jr, Teddy Hart, and others that have signed with MLW in recent weeks.
