A triple threat tables, ladders, and chairs match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship is set for WWE TLC.
Becky Lynch will defend her title against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in the TLC match. That was confirmed on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, with Asuka being added to the match by winning a battle royal.
Lynch returned to WWE television tonight for the first time since the Survivor Series go-home show, where she was pulled from her match against Ronda Rousey due to injury. She said she was putting herself back in the game and called Charlotte out to the ring. They went back and forth, with Lynch saying Rousey wouldn’t have been able to walk the next night if she faced Lynch at Survivor Series.
Lynch said Charlotte went from copying her old man to copying “The Man.” Charlotte called Lynch delusional and said Lynch was copying Ric Flair and still managing to ride Charlotte’s coattails. Charlotte said she wasn’t fighting for Lynch at Survivor Series, she was fighting for herself and because Lynch couldn’t.
The storyline led to Paige initially announcing Lynch vs. Charlotte for TLC because she hasn’t seen any other challenger in the division with the same amount of desire Charlotte has. Paige was interrupted by the rest of the women’s division and then made a battle royal for this week’s main event to determine who would be added to the title match for TLC.
Asuka, Naomi, Carmella, Lana, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Zelina Vega, Peyton Royce, and Billie Kay were in the battle royal. Asuka won by last eliminating Deville.
TLC is taking place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California on December 16.
