Wrong diagnosis by a hospital and scanning centre in 2016, when a Mulund family was told the 72-year-old head of the family had only 24 hours to live when in fact he was only suffering from a peptic ulcer, has led to a consumer forum holding the healthcare facility guilty of deficiency in service.
The forum ordered the hospital and scanning centre to refund Rs 51,000 they had collected as fees with an interest of 9% from February 2016. They were also directed to pay a total compensation of Rs 60,000.
