When tragedy struck Gorakhpur’s BRD Hospital in August 2017 leading numerous children to death due to lack of oxygen, Dr Kafeel Khan was suspended. Two years into the inquiry, Khan has been absolved of the charges of medical negligence, corruption, and not performing his duty to the fullest on the day more than 60 lives were lost at the hospital due to shortage of oxygen.
Dr. Kafeel has spent nine months behind the bars for the charges he is now absolved of.
Out on bail, Kafeel continues to be suspended from the BRD Medical College. He has demanded a CBI probe into the incident.
