Luxury eyewear company Luxottica and Donna Karan announced the renewal of its global eyewear license agreement for an additional five years. The agreement covers the design, production and worldwide distribution of prescription frames and sunglasses under the Donna Karan and DKNY brands. The new agreement will run through December 2014, with an option for a further five-year extension.
Antonio Miyakawa, Executive Vice President, Wholesale and Marketing of Luxottica Group, commented: “We are very pleased with the long-term renewal of this partnership. The new agreement will allow us to target the market even more effectively, thus maximizing the potential of these two highly-recognizable brands each within its target market.”
Luxottica Group is a leader in premium eyewear, with over 6,250 optical and sun retail stores in North America, Asia-Pacific, China, South Africa and Europe. Luxottica’s key house brands include Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vogue, Persol, Oliver, and license brands include Bvlgari, Burberry, and Chanel to name a few.
Fashion company Donna Karan distributes collections of apparel, sportswear, accessories and shoes under the Donna Karan and DKNY brand names. Since November 2001, Donna Karan International has been part of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
