The pop-up store concept is regular occurrence these days. However when Dover Street Market announced it was opening a temporary Chanel boutique, it got fashionista’s tongues wagging. Arguably London’s most directional fashion and lifestyle emporium, Dover Street is set to showcase a capsule range of Chanel ready-to-wear, accessores and shoes from its Metiers d’Arts Paris-Londres Collection.
According to WGSN exclusive window displays and installations will be devoted to Chanel for the event which runs June 9-26. The boutique will showcase limited-edition pieces and a selection of iconic pieces from the Chanel collection.
The Paris-Londres collection “fuses grace, a baroque ambiance and punk-rock accents, created with detail and refinement,” Chanel said. “The tone is at the same time postmodern and romantic… it integrates a delicate punk sophistication,” Karl Lagerfeld added.
The Metiers d’Arts Collection was established in 2002 following Chanel’s acquisition of the seven specialist Parisian ateliers that have collaborated with the house for decades, including: Desrues, Lemarie, Lessage, Massaro, Michel, Goossens and Guillet.
