Which Premier League clubs signed the most players in the January transfer window?

Premier League spending was at its lowest since 2012 as clubs opted to loan players rather than buy during the January transfer window.

A grand total of £138million was spent – a staggering 70 per cent less than last season’s £465million.

Chelsea’s signing of Christian Pulisic accounted for nearly half the total spend at £57.6million, while 14 clubs decided not to spend any money at all.

Loan deals dominated proceedings, with Gonzalo Higuain joining Chelsea and Denis Suarez moving to Arsenal on temporary contracts with options to buy in the summer.
