Which footballer has the highest salary in Europe? Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Mesut Ozil feature

French publication L’Equipe have released a report revealing the 10 best paid footballers in Europe.

Unsurprisingly, the top five best paid players in Ligue 1 all ply their trade at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, only Neymar and Kylian Mbappe make it into the top 10 for Europe.

Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez makes the list, but teammate Paul Pogba is nowhere to be found.

Despite turning 34 on Tuesday, Cristiano Ronaldo is the leading scorer in Serie A and is also the best paid player in Italy.

But it seems as though the real money is in Spain.

In fact, half of the players on the list currently ply their trade in La Liga, including reported Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho.
