Thibaut Courtois wants his former Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard to join him at Real Madrid.
Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to the LaLiga giants in recent seasons.
Courtois, who won two Premier League titles with Hazard at Chelsea, made a £35million switch to the Spanish capital last summer.
When asked if Real should sign Hazard or Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, Courtois told Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad: “I [would] choose Eden, of course.
“I really like him, but the choice is up to the board.
“I do not know what will happen. That is not a question for me, but for the chairman and the management.
“The team is what it is now. Karim Benzema is in a good shape and scored 17 goals. [Gareth] Bale started well, but then had to deal with injuries.
“You see in the matches that we have quality, only sometimes it is not possible to score.”
Real have struggled since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus in a £99.2million deal last summer. They are third in La Liga and 10 points behind leaders Barcelona.
Hazard, who has scored 15 goals this season, has been touted as a replacement for Ronaldo.
Spanish publication Marca claims the Belgium captain will push through a “dream” move to Real at the end of the season.
Speaking last year, Hazard said: “Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie, it is my dream since I was a kid.
“We will see. I don’t want to talk about this every day. I don’t have time, but we will talk about my future soon.
“In my head, sometimes I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future. I am 27 and I will turn 28 in January.
“It is also when you have a dream and you want to make it happen. It is like I have said a lot of times – if I leave I will be happy, I know if I stay I will be happy.”
Hazard has just 18 months left on his Chelsea deal.
