Manchester City superstar Sergio Aguero has moved ever closer to Alan Shearer’s Premier League hat-trick record with his three goals against Arsenal.
Aguero bagged a treble of tap-ins at the Etihad as his side won 3-1.
It was the Argentine’s 10th hat-trick in the Premier League, moving him clear of Robbie Fowler’s nine.
Aguero is now only behind Shearer in the history books for the most three-goal hauls in England’s top tier.
The Newcastle and Blackburn legend claimed 11 hat-tricks during his glittering career.
And Aguero, who turns 31 years old this summer, has shown this season he’s still got plenty to offer before he considers calling time on his City stay.
Shearer congratulated his fellow goal-scorer on social media, tweeting: “That’s 10 hat-tricks for Sergio Aguero in the Premier League now. Just incredible!!!”
Aguero said: “It was important to win. The other day [Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle] I scored early and we lost, today I am very happy.”
And City boss Pep Guardiola added: “He was born with that talent, he will die with that talent.”
