Manchester United transfer news: Red Devils looking to beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona and Lyon to signing of 16-year-old Hannibal Mejbri

Manchester United are in talks to sign 16-year-old Monaco midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, according to reports.

However, the Ligue 1 side are reluctant to let the precocious talent go at all.

The midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest talents in France and only signed for Monaco last year from Paris FC.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Lyon and Barcelona had also approached his family about doing a deal.

But the Daily Mail claim that United are still keen on making a deal happen for the starlet.

Mejbri has not featured for the first team yet, but has impressed coaches with his rapid development.

Earlier this month, the Red Devils secured the signing of another 16-year-old Frenchman, Noam Emeran from Amiens.

The only departure from Old Trafford this month seems to be Marouane Fellaini, with the Belgium midfielder en route to China ahead of a proposed move.
