Quoting a source, it is revealed executive vice chairman Ed Woodward spent time at the training ground to gauge the mood of the squad and, although there is no guarantee a permanent offer will be made at the end of the season, the “consensus around the training ground is Ole will get the job though with a positive result against PSG.”
Woodward has maintained a full-time appointment will not be made until the season is over, but the director is a fan of former striker Solskjaer, who has been backed by a number of former United players such as Ryan Giggs and Teddy Sheringham, to carry on in the role next term.
Since he replaced Jose Mourinho, Anthony Martial has signed a new long term contract when it looked like he would be leaving and others are set to follow suit.
United have every chance of beating PSG considering Neymar will miss both legs through injury.
Solskjaer even said recently he is already preparing the side for next season whether he gets the job or not.
“What Manchester United are going to look like next season, with or without me, it doesn’t matter,” he told a press conference.
“I’m here to prepare for next season.”
