James Milner surpasses Manchester United legend David Beckham on all-time Premier League assist list

Liverpool star James Milner moved to seventh on the all-time list for Premier League assists after creating the goal for Sadio Mane against West Ham.

The versatile ace has recorded 81 assists during his career to surpass David Beckham in the rankings.

The 33-year-old has had a successful career playing 505 times in the Premier League for Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City and now Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Replays of his 81st assist showed it should not have stood, though, as he was offside before crossing for Mane to open the scoring against the Hammers.

Milner has a long way to go before even coming close to the all-time leader.

Ryan Giggs has double the amount Milner does and the Liverpool man would probably need to keep playing until he is 50 to get there.

He is, though, the highest man on the list who is still plying his trade in the Premier League.

Here is the current list of the most Premier League assists:

10. Teddy Sheringham – 76

9. David Silva – 78

8. David Beckham – 80

7.) James Milner – 81
6.) Steven Gerrard – 92

5. Dennis Bergkamp – 94

4. Frank Lampard – 102

3. Wayne Rooney – 103

2. Cesc Fabregas – 111

1. Ryan Giggs – 162
