After Sadio Mane gave the Reds the lead in controversial circumstances, Michail Antonio was played in from a clever free-kick to level the scores.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table, Liverpool pressed for a winner.
However, they were constantly rebuffed by the irrepressible 20-year-old who sat in front of the Hammer’s defence.
Rice was disciplined and showed great positioning throughout – winning the ball back 11 times and making eight tackles which was more than twice than any other player on the pitch.
Having signed a new, long-term deal at the end of 2018, West Ham know they have a top talent on their hands.
And it seems the rest of the Premier League are now being made aware of the versatile star’s talents.
