Willian is reportedly unhappy with Chelsea’s one-year contract offer.
The winger, 30, is believed to be holding out for a three-year deal.
However, Chelsea’s club policy only allows for one-year deals to be offered to players over the age of 30.
And Brazilian outlet OUL claim an agreement between the club and Willian is a long way off being reached.
Willian, who has just 18 months left on his contract, has been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
PSG were interested in a January deadline day move for the Brazilian, but were put off by Chelsea’s £60million asking price.
The Ligue 1 champions wanted to sign Willian as cover for Neymar, who has been ruled out for 10 weeks with a foot injury.
Willian, who has scored seven goals and assisting seven in all competitions, has been labelled as an ‘important’ player for Chelsea by manager Maurizio Sarri.
