Argentine footballer gets bizarre tattoo of his manager and hero Diego Maradona on his leg

An Argentine footballer has paid homage to his manager and hero Diego Maradona by getting a tattoo of the footballing legend on his leg.

Gaspar Servio, who is the goalkeeper for Maradona’s side Dorados in Mexico’s second tier, took his relationship with his boss to the next level after getting the World Cup winners face permanently marked on his body.

The tatt features a close-up of the face of 58-year-old sporting a Dorados cap with the words: “I believe in God”, branded in black letters under the portrait.

Servio, 26, enjoyed a successful season last term with Maradona after Dorados made it to the play-off finals.

The former Argentina national boss has led his side on a spectacular run of form after taking over in September.

However, Dorados eventually failed to win promotion to the top division and Maradona was sent off in the first leg after appearing to threaten to punch the opposition manager.

Servio and Maradona have clearly formed a good working relationship but that isn’t being translated onto the pitch this season.

El Gran Pe are sitting at the foot of the Ascenso MX league – having lost their opening three matches.
